The School

+ please see [community profile] lucetischool for all new school relevant info.

Offered Courses

  • Math: Pretty self explanatory; there are quite a few levels to math, starting from the most simple to extremely complicated depending on where a person's ability rests. Math ability is determined by the test given to new students and is one of those higher level/lower level classes.

  • Science: Every semester up until a break (like summer and winter) will be focused on a different science subject. More of a study of natural things, and perhaps even delving into theory. Geology, physical, biology, chemistry among other practical sciences can likely be explored here, as time goes on.

  • Writing/Reading comprehension: Pretty self explanatory, includes discussion of books and literacy and sentence/grammar structures, and composition writing. Lots of composition writing.

  • Art: Usually just for Mondays and Wednesdays, and also will be opened to non-enrolled students for the heck of it. More of a recreational class, though everyone's expected to work on something, so it's not just a free period. Gelda's classes might lean toward more craft-type projects while Raine just encourages creativity and thinking outside the lines and other things and of course some emphasis on history from other worlds.

  • PE: On Thursdays, theoretically more of a 'recess' class; students are expected to play fairly with each other and get involved, and occasionally have sessions of explaining their world's sports to one another, or just hang out and do whatever. Either can be outside on the playground or inside the gym room.

  • World Sharing: To be elaborated on a little further elsewhere (as the class will be opened up to those who don't officially attend), given the broad span of worlds that students hail from, this course is intended to be one that allows students to learn more about one another and the worlds they come from. Presentations and groups working together are often encouraged, as obviously this is a course that would rely mostly on what students are willing to tell about their histories. And hopefully there would be books available in the library to support this as well, but that isn't always the case.

  • Music: Mondays and Wednesdays, alternated with the art classes groups. Will be opened up to non-students as well, and more will be elaborated elsewhere. Students have a chance to learn about playing instruments and their history and probably sharing some of their world's examples of music as well.

  • Magic: Please see the writeup for all pertaining information.

The Schoolhouse:

First floor: Raine's office, Classroom "A", Classroom "D" (Music classroom, with instruments), girl's bathroom, "gym" (an extra large room that was once used in a town meeting), supply closet. Near the gym at the back of the building is the door that leads to the playground.

Second floor: Gelda's office, Classroom "B", Classroom "C", boy's bathroom, empty office, supply closet, cafeteria. And by cafeteria it's just another large room like the gym, only students can bring their own lunches to eat there if they want. If for some reason the classes are combined, they probably would be held up there.

Outside: In the back of the school is a playground that once had a barrier to keep out the known villains. The general area includes something like this, though probably with a larger area for organized sports like soccer.

Other: Outside the building are a few various plants and flowerbeds, which Raine usually tends to. There's also a school bell that can be heard in the morning.

Signups for the school go here. Current breakdown is here. These lists are possibly out of date, so please update your characters if you can so I can fix things up! And I will edit the pages so if you're only coming for the "open" classes you can state which ones.

You're so on top of this whole school thing ♥

As far as my kids go, I think the only ones who would really be interested in school/would have to go at the two boys. Roxas just because he loves learning stuff (the history and writing/reading especially) and somehow would think it'd help him in his discovery of what the Mally are doing and Taichi because...well, he just should because he's a kid and he's in the middle of building a treehouse. Kairi might drop in every now and then but she's pretty off doing her own thing and Shiki's got her shop so she'll never be around. I don't know if that helped at all?

I-I try. ♥

And yes, that totally does help, thank you so much.

Sonic (age 15) still mentions school here and there after he talked to Raine that one time about it. I had him go whenever he could, probably in Class A, since he patrols and things like that, plus I don't think he could be in class for very long or at all. XD; I'm not sure how the placement test is supposed to be taken though, or is the score assumed by us?

I had him go mainly for the magic lessons, but that probably means doing some of the regular academic work, if I had assumed correctly again? ^-^

Arashi (age 16) would probably go to school too since that's what she was doing back in Tokyo too. Class B, most likely, as all she's doing for now is helping out at the clinic. I think the issue I had is how to feasibly mention attending school ICly if our character hasn't talked to Raine or Gelda about it. ^-^

ffffff You and your questions xD Let me see...

Scores are pretty much assumed, though it's pretty case-by-case. 350-400 are for like, TRUE nerdcore or just natural geniuses, 300ish is still high nerd level, 120-250 range is pretty average, so Sonic might be somewhere in there?

Pretty much up to you; Raine wants everyone to attend for some of the other academic, but it's not likely that will happen, so whatever feels right for you.

Well, they could just pop in at the school any time they wanted and drop an OOC note in a PM saying they were attending? At least then we'd know whether or not they'd know the teachers, at least from that perspective, should threading go on.

Sorry for the edits, I'm looking at some of my older scoring and trying to work this out xD

Will should be a nature teacher.

It's amazing you keep all this up to date~ We really appreciate it.

Well, ah. Sokka recently discovered there was a school, so he's probably going to start dropping in every now and then. Especially since he learned about magic from Sonic and would like to know more, though the rest of the academic lessons wouldn't hurt. He likes being smart, anyway. And in that case he'd likely be in the Class B category or so.

Mai won't bother for sure. Other than that there's really no one else I currently play here that would even think about attending school.

Why do you have to keep sharing that, Professor...

You know all about what Lloyd's doing.

Estelle comes as much as possible, and tries to be generally helpful and research discussion topics and such. She's a teacher's pet. Senel, though... it's probably a miracle if you ever see him around. :| Even with Stella to drag him. We'll see what happens if Will starts to teach.
May. 2nd, 2009 01:06 am (UTC)
Richter makes Emil go. 8| He'd be in Class B, most likely, and probably average as far as test scores go.

This is awesome.

Fina will be in Class B, I think and she'll almost always attend classes. And Chie will come to classes... sometimes. She'll be in Class B as well and her test scores will be special.
May. 2nd, 2009 01:38 am (UTC)

Oh dear. Lloyd special? XD
May. 2nd, 2009 01:52 am (UTC)
Hm. Ichigo is my only school age muse, but I don't know if he'd go, considering he canonly skips all the time. :T
May. 2nd, 2009 01:52 am (UTC)
Aros will be... in whatever class Flonne is in lurking in the back, only go if and when Flonne goes (if she's in a class at all), and get truly terrible test scores. Not only is he based on Sora he also can only barely access those memories when it comes to specific things.

Mark might come now and again in class A and get scores in the higher 200s range. If only because the likes of calculus don't exactly... exist in his time/world.

Nina obviously won't come, nor will Ruto...

As to Haruki, he's in Class B. He'll attend all the time despite grumbling almost every day about how it's a waste of time and despite being zoned out most of every class period and/or writing notes for his newest Brigade scheme he'll likely get neigh-perfect scores on almost everything. Canonly, he gets more or less perfect scores in every class without much effort because everything comes natural to him.
May. 2nd, 2009 02:15 am (UTC)
Lessee here ...

Flonne goes. Due to her work in the flower shop, she's auto'd into class B ... unless being 1509 counts as "adult" :|; She looks like she can't be much older than 14~15 physically as it is, so. Eh. Anyway, she's probably a rather ... special student in class. More than likely, she'll try to fit the concept of either love or super heroes into all of her answers, both vocal ones and on exams :|; I don't think I need to really put into words how bad her grades likely are.

Leon doesn't go. He thinks it's a waste of time and would probably tell Raine off if she tried to convince him otherwise. He'd ... probably only break down and start attending if Stahn convinced him, if Marian is magically apped here and told him to, or if he just couldn't find anything else to do to pass the time. Tl;dr, he might attend at a later date, but at the moment, he's not.

Rika attends. Class C. She's fairly bright, getting average to above average grades more than likely. She's not the type to ask for help, but she'll accept it if it's offered, and she probably (after class) thanks whoever's teaching for taking the time to teach everyone.

Yuri doesn't go. He more than likely never went to school a day in his life, he canonly hates studying, and he'll use Brave Vesperia as an excuse if he's ever confronted about it.

Grune probably shows up at random to any of the three classes and either sits in, asks what's going on, or just leaves. If she ever happened to come in during an exam and it was offered to her, then she'd more than likely give extremely ... special answers. tl;dr, Grune is not an actual student, but she does show up from time to time on her wanderings.

Luca knows there's a school, but I don't think she ever went to school in her world (since she worked as a waitress most of her childhood) and probably wouldn't start now. She'd have to be convinced to go.

--ooof, thank you for bringing this up ♥

Rhyme, my darling nine year old has most definitely been attending Class C, she likes to learn o/

Cless is a potential Class A/B but... he doesn't see it as all that important, education never really was in his life. So... he will still be saying no >>;

Sally and Rude quite obviously, do not apply.
May. 2nd, 2009 03:22 am (UTC)
III think Stella's the only one interested. Kratos feels he's too old and knows everything and Ammy... is a wolf.
May. 2nd, 2009 04:51 am (UTC)
Schooooool ♥

Iria is definitely, 100% attending the school (class B I guess?). She's not very well educated but she has expressed interest in canon in opening up her own school so, this would be good for her. xD Plus Raine would be an excellent role model for her, hahah

Sign her up! :o

Lol. Kamina in school.

That said, I think he'd be an awesome P.E. type person. Which in his terms is really just playing random games/sports with the kids and hopefully not break windows.

And Raven wouldn't really go to school either unless there were some hot lady teachers.
Aug. 13th, 2009 07:01 pm (UTC)
/randomly replies to this super late.

If there's any way you'd like to work Kamina in as a PE teacher of sorts, I think that would be a fun idea, especially with the kids interest in soccer and stuff and getting them into things. /o/ That just needs to be brought up ICly somehow, aah.
